Paddle Boating with Mom

The kids have been asking to go Paddle Boating for a while. I decided that I needed a workout so I took them the other day. Surprisingly even though their legs can't really reach the pedals they did manage to do most of the paddling so I didn't even get a workout. So proud of my super active kiddos.

Idaho Humane Society

For the kids birthday's I like to have their friends bring donations rather than gifts. Since the theme of our party was animal we had their friends bring donations for the Idaho Humane Society.

Fall Scrimmage

Fall is in the air which means Bronco Football is about to begin. Took the kids to the fall scrimmage. We are ready to attack the future.

Turning 4 and 5

Kiddos are turning 4 and 5 this week. Couldn't image life without them.

Bear Basin

Pennington's buddy Henry King let us know about Bear Basin which has lead to our new favorite family activity (Mountain Biking). We seriously have our kids mountain biking on single tracks. It is AWESOME. The kids can do the pump track, baby bear and sleepy hollow. We are hoping to get the kids into Mountain Biking more.

Ponderosa 2014

This year we decided to go camping at Ponderosa with the Crist family. The kids went to MOSS Camp, rode their bikes, played in the lake, and went on a nice hike to Duck Lake.

 

 

Cabin July 2014 - Louie Lake

For a few days after the 4th of July I took the kids up to the cabin while Johnny was working. We hiked up to Louie Lake which is close to Boulder Lake. We got a bit lost and had to carry the kids a bit but it was totally worth it once we saw this view. Idaho you are beautiful.

Fishing

Any time we are at the cabin Pennington asks to go fishing. I just loves these picture. He is great at catching fish off the dock. He usually catches at least 5 every time we let him fish.

 

 

Boulder Lake

We hiked up to Boulder Lake today outside of McCall. The kids did great hiking the whole way 2 miles up hill 800 foot incline and back down. No carrying involved. Johnny and I are proud parents.

Cabin Time - June 2014

This summer I am trying to get the kids up to the cabin as much as possible. I want them to get out on the boat, swim in the lake, go hiking and mountain biking. I don't think summers get much better than spending quality time at the cabin.

Boise Urban Garden School

For our friend Lucy Spiess 6th birthday we were invited to a party at Boise Urban Garden School. What a great experience for the kids. Lots of crafts, digging in the dirt and catching butterflies.

 

All Comers Meet

The kids love going down to the Timberline track on Thursday nights to run in the All Comers Meet put on by the YMCA. The kids are pretty good at racing. Second place for both of them in there age group (3 year old girls and 4 year old boys).

Library Ambassadors

In the winter I signed our family up to be Library Ambassadors which means you promote the Boise Public Library. In return we got our names on the windows.

 

Boise School of Rock

For Henry Neil's (Pennington's buddy at school) Birthday the kids got to go to Boise School of Rock and learn how to play a few instruments and jam as a band. Below is a picture of Pennington playing the guitar.

Pennington - Nationals Soccer

This Spring we started Pennington out on playing recreational club soccer with the Boise Nationals. Johnny was his coach. Below are some pictures from his games.

Ballet

Piper started Ballet in January and loves it. All of her besties are in the class as well. Below is a picture of Piper in our ballet recital outfit. They did 2 dances. One about clouds and one about spiders.

Spring Show

The kids had there Spring Show at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. It was awesome to see the kids up on stage. Here are some pictures of Pennington and his buddy Henrik.

Grandpa Jess

Grandpa Jess passed away in April 2014. Pennington had a great idea to let off balloons at his funeral. He came up with this idea because his friend Rowan had twin sisters that passed away before they were born on the same day as his birthday. Now, every year on his birthday they let off balloons in honor of the twin girls. Everyone was really proud of Pennington's idea.

Easter 2014

Some of Piper's classmates invited us over for Easter Sunday. It was great because it involved nothing religious and it gave the kids an idea of what their friends do on Easter.

Piper in Cleats

Piper is very athletic for her age. She is definitely going to be awesome at sports. Piper started soccer with Coach Steve in the Spring along with some of her buddies from school.

 

Ice World

Pennington keeps asking if he can play hockey. My response to him is you need to know how to skate first. Below is a picture of the kids at open stake night at Ice World.

Spring Skiing

Couldn't get enough of skiing with the kids. I think we went 10 times this year. Below are some more pictures of the kids skiing at Tamarack or Brundage.

Poppy's Birthday

We were at the cabin for Poppy's 55th birthday. What a wonderful time. I know Poppy enjoyed it.

Maya

We had been talking about getting a dog for a while now but Johnny just decided to bring one home in the middle of February. Good thing it was 3 1/2 years old and didn't need to be house trained. Maya is a Siberian Husky and we LOVE her.

Elliott Teaches Math

Pennington loves having Uncle Elliott come over and teach him math. Pennington is really into addition and subtraction. There is no mistaking that this kid has the Groves' math genes.

Bodies in Motion

We spent several Sunday's at Bodies in Motion with this crew. Piper has a great group of friends at school.

Seahawks

Our awesome house came with a flag pull taller than our house. Of course when the Seahawks go to the Super Bowl it is important to fly the flag.
