Fun at Parks

Below are some pictures of the family at Liberty and Ann Morrison parks this past weekend.

Pennington and Mommy feeding the ducks at Ann Morrison park. Pennington was really quiet and just kept watching the ducks. He also kept putting the bread in his mouth instead of throwing it on the ground for the ducks.

Daddy and Me

Daddy is currently working Sunday - Tuesday so he gets to spend Wednesday - Friday with Pennington while Mommy is at work. Pennington and Daddy go grocery shopping, clothes shopping, to story time at the Library, to Music Class, for walks, to the park, ect. Below are some photos and a video of what Daddy and Pennington have been up to.

Daddy treats Pennington to all kinds of new foods. One of Pennington's new favorites is Watermelon.

Stairs

Pennington is a master climber. Less than three weeks ago he started to crawl and now he can climb up 16 stairs all by himself. Below is a picture of Pennington making it to stair number 16 for the second time in 10 minutes. Now we just need to teach him how to get back down.

Laos New Year

Yesterday our family celebrated the Laos New Year. As part of the Laos New Year we participated in a ceremony to provide offerings to our ancestors. Below are pictures from the Laos New Year.

It's a Girl!!!

We found out today that we are going to be expecting a little girl. Johnny and I are both really excited. Both of us were secretly hoping for a girl. After the ultrasound I went out to my car to find a little box sitting in the passenger seat. When I opened the box I was pleased to find the sweetest card in the world along with a very adorable sun dress and pink pajamas for my little girl. The box also included chocolates. Yummy!!!! Thank you Johnny and Pennington for the wonderful gift. Below is a profile photo of our little girl. From what we could tell from the ultrasound she is going to be really tall.

Singing and Swinging

Today was a really fun day for our family. Mommy and Daddy took Pennington to music class this morning. Pennington was so excited when we showed up to music class. He couldn't stop smiling and laughing at everyone. Pennington was able to show off to the other kids by crawling around to get the musical instruments. He did a really good job shaking the egg shaker to the music.

Daddy took Pennington to the park to go swinging for the first time. See the picture below.

This evening the whole family walked over to Lucky 13 in Harris Ranch for dinner. We ran into some good friends of ours and joined them for dinner. Pennington enjoyed eating his oranges, gold fish and baby food. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some yummy pizza.

Eight Months Old

I turned eight months old today. I thought I would let you know what I am doing right now.

1. I love eating anything Mommy and Daddy let me fed myself. Enough with the baby food. I still don't have any teeth so I am limited on what they will give me. Right now they will only let me have hard things to suck on or things that will mush up in my mouth. I really like oranges, cantaloupe, carrots, bananas, avocado, Cheerios, ect. Until I get teeth they are going to make me eat baby food. Hopefully I will get teeth soon.

2. I just learned how to drink from a cup with a straw. Mommy and Daddy let me have water and watered down juice from the cup. I still need a little help holding the cup. Drinking from a straw is much easier than a sippy cup. See the picture below.

3. I can crawl everywhere. I can even pull myself up to a standing position next to the bathtub, coffee table, ottoman, even my wagon.

4. I still love being read to before I go to bed. I have started to wake up twice a night because I have realized I am all alone in my crib. Mommy and Daddy come and get me when I cry. They usually let me have a few ounces of a bottle to help me go back to bed. The thing is that I am really not that hungry in the middle of the night. I just want to know someone will come get me. I think Mommy and Daddy wish I wouldn't wake up twice a night but I can't help it. I am just a little scared. If I wake up after 5:00am and will not go back to bed Mommy and Daddy let me lay in bed with them. I really like it when they let me sleep with them because I feel safe. Mommy and Daddy keep telling me I can't sleep with them forever.

First Trip to the ER

Pennington was sleeping in on Mommy and Daddy's bed this morning while Mommy went to start a load of laundry. All the sudden we both heard a loud thud which was Pennington falling off the bed. Mommy had no idea how this happened since she put tons of pillows around him. We weren't sure if he hit his head on the nightstand or just the carpet. Daddy checked him out and couldn't find any bumps or bruises. His eyes weren't dilated and he seemed to know who we were. The big concern was that he fell more than twice his height. Both Daddy and a nurse from the Nurses Hot Line suggested that since he fell more than twice his height that he be seen by an ER doctor. So we made our first trip to the ER. The ER Doctor checked Pennington out and didn't seem to be concerned at all. So at the end of the day everything turned out to be fine. Mommy definitely learned a big lesson today that she can NEVER leave Pennington alone.
