Oh Roseola
So I guess I was wrong for thinking that Pennington's fever was related to teething. Really he had Roseola. Roseola starts out with a fever for a few days and then after the fever is gone a rosy-pink rash shows up for a few days. Typically the fever is around 102 to 104 degrees and the rash is on the chest, stomach, back, neck and face. Roseola is contagious only while the child has a fever. We aren't really sure how he got Roseola since it can take 7 to 10 days days to show up. I am happy to say that the rash is finally gone and Pennington is back to his happy self again.

Maggie had Roseola as well---it was horrible! I'm glad Pennington is feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing Jesikah? You're about to have another baby soon!!!!
I thought Maggie might have had it as well. I tried to find your blog about it. Honestly looking back on Pennington having Roseola it wasn't that bad. His fever wasn't as high as what I have read it can be. He would sleep okay if we let him sleep with us which is what we did. Also, the rash didn't really bother him. However, I have to say that he is sooo much happier now that it is gone. I think I just started to think he was acting normal when he had Roseola when really he wasn't. I'm feeling okay. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I will have a better idea of when this baby is coming. I am getting really excited and really nervous all at the same time.
