Halloween Weekend at the Cabin

The Luangaphay Family decided to go up to the Groves Family cabin for the weekend. Below are pictures from the weekend:

Waking up on Saturday morning. Super excited because there are tons of great Football games on today. That is why I wore my Football PJs to bed.

Watching the BSU game. GO BRONCOS!!!

All bundled up for a walk with Mommy and Daddy.

Happy Halloween!!!

For Halloween Pennington was "King of the Wild Things" from the book "Where the Wild Things Are". Below are pictures of him in his Wild Thing costume.

Pennington Loves Football

During the fall at the Luangaphay house we watch A LOT of football. Below is a picture of Pennington and Daddy watching football. Mommy doesn't really want Pennington to watch TV but we have decided watching Football on TV will just have to be an exception. Most of the time we try to make sure Pennington isn't facing the TV so he doesn't get so much extra stimulation. However we have found that somehow he starts to move his head and body around to face the TV.

Good Morning!!

Mommy thought it would be fun to take videos of Pennington. This video was taken this morning when Pennington woke up. Pennington has been able to sleep for 6 to 7 hours straight the last three nights in a row. This means Pennington is now only waking up once during the middle of the night. Wahoo!!! Mommy and Daddy are keeping their fingers crossed that he will be sleeping through the night soon. If you listen closely to the video you can hear Pennington talking.

Wednesday is a Boys Day

On Wednesday's Daddy stays home with Pennington. This Wednesday Daddy and Pennington came downtown to meet Mommy for lunch. Mommy really enjoyed getting to see her little one since she is now back at work. Of course when the boys get together they always do silly things like try to catch monkeys. Below are some photos of Pennington and his monkey (King Louie).

Bedtime Routine

About two weeks ago we started a Bedtime Routine for Pennington. It begins around 7pm with dinner, followed by playtime for about 30 to 45 minutes, followed by a bath, and then lights out. He seems to really enjoy the Bedtime Routine. Usually we are able to get him down for the night around 9pm. Below is a picture of Pennington getting out of the bath. He likes to carry his toys into the bath with him.

Pumpkin Patch

Today our family went to the Pumpkin Patch with the Crist Family to get pumpkins. Pennington was pretty sleepy at the pumpkin patch so we aren't really sure how much he enjoyed it.

Our family is getting really excited for Halloween. Mommy has decorated the house and Pennington already has his Halloween outfit. Look for photos of Pennington in his Halloween outfit after Halloween. Below are pictures from the Pumpkin Patch.

Two Months Old

Pennington turned two monthss old earlier this week. The reason that there haven't been any new posts over the last week is because Mommy misplaced the camera charger and had to buy a new one.

Pennington has started to be more and more wake during the day. See below for pictures of things we do during the day. Pennington still isn't sleeping through the night. He usually goes to sleep around 9pm and gets up around 8am. He wakes up twice during the night for a quick diaper change and snack. Mommy takes the first shift (around 1:30am) and Daddy takes the second (around 4:30am).

Pennington has stayed the night at Nonie and Poppy's (Grandma and Grandpa Groves) House once since he was born so Mommy and Daddy could have a fun night at the Killer's concert. He has also had a boys night at home while Mommy went to a Wedding up in Seattle.

Mommy is going to be returning to work on Monday. Pennington will be watched by Nonie while Mommy is at work and Daddy is at class or work. Mommy feels really lucky that she has been able to be home with Pennington for the last 10 weeks and even luckier that she will be taking more time off in December and January. Below are some pictures of things we have been up to over the last week.

Pennington and Daddy at the Tavern for dinner. We are trying to teach Pennington how to use chopsticks.
Pennington is starting to learn how to play with toys. Right now we are working on holding things in our hands.
Mommy, Daddy and Pennington went for a walk in Kathryn Albertson Park today. What a gorgeous fall day in Boise (71 degrees and sunny). Pennington loves being outside.

Eight Weeks Old

Pennington turned eight weeks old yesterday. So many exciting things have happened in the last week. Read about it below.
Mommy and Pennington took a four day three night trip to the cabin and most amazing thing happened, IT SNOWED!!! For those of you that don't live in Idaho this is one of the earliest snow falls ever. Also, while we were at the cabin Pennington rolled over from his tummy to his back for the first time (twice in a row so Mommy definitely knows it was not a fluke. However he hasn't done it again since we got back from the cabin).

Mommy and Pennington also had another play date with Avery and Becca but this time it was at Starbucks because it was super crummy outside. Pennington really liked Starbucks. He spend most of the time looking around and sleeping in Mommy's lap. Both Mommies were super impressed with how well behaved their little ones were.

Daddy reading to Pennington. Pennington doesn't really pay attention when Mommy reads but when Daddy reads he looks so interested. He even tried to read the story himself. He was cooing the whole time.

It is official. Pennington can smile now. We have three different pictures to prove it. Mommy is thinking that he waited to smile until he wore his Leo onesie for the first time. Since Pennington was born on August 11th he is a Leo. The onesie says born leader (hence our decision to call him Pennington which we think sounds Presidential) and loves the limelight (reason Mommy thinks he waited to smile until he wore it).
