Stella's Birthday

A few weeks ago the kids attended there good friend Stella's 5th birthday party. Jennifer (Stella's Mom) did a great job with the party. There was a balloon lady, a bounce house, face painting, etc. It was a lot of fun. Below are some pictures from the party.

Pee Wee Soccer

For the month of June and July Pennington was in Pee Wee soccer with his besties Rowan and Henry. A few nights after soccer we would stay after to have a BBQ with some of the other families. It was a lot of fun for both the kids and the parents. Below are a few pictures from Pee Wee Soccer.

Family Photos - 2013

A few months ago we got family photos taken by one of my mom's co-workers. She did a fabulous job. Here they are.

Piper Rides a Two Wheel Bike (No Training Wheels)

She did it!!!! A few weeks ago before she turned 3 Piper figured out how to ride a two wheel bike with no training wheels. Nonni says she is pretty sure she is the youngest person she has ever known to ride a 2 wheel bike with no trainning wheels. Piper you ROCK!!!

Kaitlyn Haller's Wedding

Last night the kids were able to attend there very first wedding. Kaitlyn Haller is the youngest of the three Haller children. The Haller's were very good family friends of the Groves' family growing up. We lived next door to them for more than 10 of our childhood years.

Below are some photos of the family at the wedding. There was a photo booth at the wedding. The kids took several (okay probably more than 20) photos in the photo booth.  Enjoy!

Yes that is Pennington trying to kiss the flower girl above.

Piper/Pennington Birthday Party

Similar to last year we had a joint birthday party for the kids. Below is the invitation.

The party was pretty low key. We invited friends from school, Jewish friends, and a few other friends. We had dinner, played a game, ate cake and exchanged books. Below are some photos from the party.

Side note: I was all nervous about the smoke in the air from the fires. Little did I know that we would have hundreds of bees at the party. It was a mess but the kids still had a great time. We are looking forward to taking the books to St. Lukes in the coming weeks.

Piper 3 Years Old

Piper turned 3 years old today. Here is what Piper has been up to over the last few months.

1. Learning how to ride a 2 wheel bike with no training wheels.
2. Starting to learn her letters.
3. Singing a lot. She pretty much knows the whole national anthem.
4. Being very girly. She talks about what girls do and what boys do. She continues to LOVE anything purple and pink.
5. She sleeps the whole night in her room over 50% of the time but still ends up in our room sometimes.
6. She is potty trained during the day (having the occasional accident probably once a week). She isn't potty trained at night. She still wears a pull-up for now.
7. She continues to be a really good eater.
8. She is starting to make really good friends at school. She really likes Emma and Anneke from her class.
9. She enjoys playing with her big brother.
10. She is definitely little miss sass. She is really starting to test Johnny and I.

Piper you are such a joy to be around. You are very eager to learn. I love you so much. I am very excited for what your third year will bring.

Pennington 4 Years Old

Pennington turned 4 years old last Sunday. Over the last few months Pennington has been into the following:

1. Riding his bike anywhere we will let him. He can easily ride 4 or 5 miles with us.
2. Learning about Space (planets, moons, galaxies, aliens, etc)
3. Learning about different kinds of dancing (break dancing and ballroom dancing)
4. Writing his name all by himself (he can write anywhere from 4 to 7 of the letters without any help)
5. Learning about anything sports related (recent interests includes horse racing, skating, fishing, etc)
6. He LOVES his friends from school Rowan and Henry. He talks about them everyday.
7. He continues to be a great sleeper. He sleeps all night in his own room. Naps are few and far between. At this point he pretty much ever naps unless he happens to be in a car at 5pm.
8. He learned to ride a tub behind a boat.
9. He learned to pretty much swim all by himself.
10. He is starting to get interested in wanting to learn how to read.

Pennington I love you so much. You are an amazing little boy full of energy and enthusiasm for life. I can't wait to see what you accomplish over the next year.
