Piper the Climber

Today the kids and I rode bikes down to the Tot Lot. When I say ride bikes I mean Pennington rode his bike and I pulled Piper in the Burley Bee. Below is a video of Piper climbing. I have to say that I am so lucky that both of my children are very coordinated. I have to say it drives me crazy that some parents (and grandparents) hover over their children to make sure they don't get hurt. Teach them how to do it early so you don't have to worry about them forever. It is pretty amazing that Piper can climb up this curving ladder at the age of 18 months.

Hun-ney

Piper LOVES Henry or Hun-ney as she calls him. She just adores him. A few weeks ago Henry was at home on his lunch break and Piper asked him to read her the "The Foot Book". Below is a picture of Hun-ney reading to Piper.

Sleeping Update

I don't want to get my hopes up but the last two weeks Piper has slept better than she ever has before. Two nights ago she slept an 7 or 8 hour stetch without waking up. This is a world record!!! She is finally starting to sleep like a 9 month old (at 18 months). I am hoping that by the time she is three she will actually sleep through the entire night by herself.

Note: Sorry for the lack of postings. Piper spilled water on Johnny's computer a week ago and we haven't been able to use it since. Hopefully once we finally get around to taking it in to get looked at we will be able to recover all of our photos. Good thing I have the blog in case we lose everything.

Another Boo-boo

I think we have hit the stage when Pennington is going to constantly look like he got into a fight. Yesterday he was running a little to fast, fell and slid into his kitchen table. He now has a cut on his eye lid. It was definitely questionable as to whether or not he needed stiches but I don't think they would have given them stickes so close to his eye. Not really sure I could have provented this accident. I guess we should start emphaizing no running in the house. I had hoped to get a photo of the cut on his eyelid but by the time I got around to it the cut was almost completely healed up.

New Fish

On Friday Johnny took the kids to go swimming at the YMCA. Yes, Johnny is Super Dad and takes two children (ages 1 1/2 and 2 1/2) swimming by himself. In addition to taking the kids swimming they also picked up two new fish. So far the new fish are doing great and haven't tried to eat eachother. Below is a picture of our three fish. If you look really closely you can see all three of our fish. One is in the bottom left corner, one is to the top left of the blue plant, and the other is to the bottom right of the blue plant.

Book Moblie

The Boise Public Library has the Book Mobile in our area every Wednesday. The last two Wednesdays the whole family has gone to the Book Mobile to check out books and a new DVD to watch for the week. Below is a picture of the collection we checkout this week. I am hoping to make this part of our weekly routine. I really enjoy the fact that we get to read new books each week.
